Eleven Hundred Springs at Floore’s

I went out to Floore’s Country Store on Friday night to see Eleven Hundred Springs put on a great show. There wasn’t a huge crowd, which is great because I was able to keep my seat at a table near the front and have a full view of the band for the entire show. My only complaint is that the (somewhat new) fiddle player kept cutting off the pedal steel player. Other than that it was a terrific show, and I can’t wait for them to come back. They are playing at Floore’s again on Friday July 8th, and on Saturday they are inviting anyone and everyone to join them to float down the Guadalupe River and afterwards there will be a party with the band. It sounds like it could be a pretty good time.

  2. I think the free Wednesday night shows are only during the Winter. Last year that started around the end of Novemeber / beginning of December. As for next week, I am sure there will be something around town to go see. :)

  4. Wow, that was brilliant. Your eighth grade English teacher must be very proud.

If you had bothered clicking on the “Music” link to the left you would have seen a post praising your cover of “Orange Blossom Special” when you next played at Floore’s. Besides, at the point in time that I wrote this post I had never commented on your musical abilities, so any reason for retribution (writing a “really good review” on how I “suck”) is purely delusional. Guilty conscience?

  5. I know I should have checked out and responded to this thread 4 years ago… This is Aaron Wynne, the steel player in question on that particular performance. I find it indicative of Jordan that he would respond in such a manner to something that was honest and far from a mean spirited comment on the band’s overall operation. Actually, I found this page because I’ve been a bit curious who the new steel player is now that the powers that be have seen fit to release yet another member of the band. A friend of mine actually asked me a few months ago if I would be willing to try out for the band because 1100 was looking for another steel player. All I could do was smile. I don’t know exactly what is going on in that camp, but I do know that it’s a shame that they are consistant in the inability to get along with ” outside” members for any length of time.
